I want to talk about a small change that I’ve made recently. This change has been liberating and has helped me stay in control of my mind. This change is called giving the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure we have all heard of this concept in the context of maintaining good relationships with people […]
You don’t have to be THAT good of a person; No one is that good or perfect. Rather, it is more important that you find your inner peace and build a lifestyle based on your needs. It's critical that you don't forget that we are human and have natural tendencies.

It took me a couple of years to dissect the phrase “be a man” despite it always being subtly thrown around at my brother or at some other man in my life. Now that I have understood the true message behind this phrase, I realize that it is complete bullshit. Being and feeling “enough” should […]
Whether you’re in school, college, or a part of the workforce, it is likely that a majority of us are currently at the peak of our stress and busyness as we near the end of this year. As we enter the holiday season, take a moment to commend yourself and all those around you for their hard work and...
Back home I was super disciplined and lowkey had my life figured out. My mornings were something that I took immense pleasure in because they were structured and gave me clarity. I enjoyed waking up to the loud chirping of the birds and the beam of sunlight on my forehead that escaped between the curtains. […]
Imagine finding a stunning dress at the mall. You expected it to look one way, but it turned out to look completely different. For as long as I can remember, malls often triggered my negative self-body image. Bodies are extraordinary and it doesn’t matter how skinny we are. In order to feel more comfortable in a fitting room, I first need to be comfortable being who I am within my own skin.

The definition of normal is “the usual, typical average state” – but that is what we as a society have defined normal as. After my experiences so far, I have learned nothing is ever really “normal”. I believe there are norms in this society that we have created but they are for a community as […]
It’s been nearly a week since college started, which means it’s been a week since I left home and moved into my own apartment. I wanted to take the time to be vulnerable and share some of the ups and downs that I’ve had this week as a result of this change.
My father works as a software developer at a large financial firm, and when his team was told to adapt to the new agile process, they were forced to constantly improve the produced results rather than waiting to create the perfect piece. Similiarly, I feel overwhelmed by the simplest of tasks because I worry about the end result. This discussion was truly such an eye-opener for a perfectionist like me who often finds herself frustrated at the thought of starting something new if it doesn’t feel “perfect”.
Chewing gum is my go-to method for ensuring my anxiety does not spiral out of control. It’s crucial to clarify that gum does NOT cure anxiety - it simply provides temporary relief.

After normalizing cold showers in my daily routine, there have been impeccable changes in myself that I wouldn’t want any other way. Despite the inconvenience of the temperature of the water, committing to endure it helped me develop a newfound discipline which I was able to apply to other aspects of my life. You may feel immediate results or you may experience it after implementing this as a habit, but whatever is the case, I hope you consider giving it a try!
Be it for a sick visit or an annual check-up, my doctor’s office always has me fill out a “Mental Health Questionnaire.” This questionnaire has been a recent requirement, which I appreciate as it shows that mental health is becoming more of a priority in medicine. However, I feel that there are a few drawbacks to this that defeat the whole purpose of having pediatric patients fill this questionnaire out.

One month ago today, after much consideration, I decided it was the perfect day to commence this long-awaited self-journey that I wanted to try - “Me Month”. “Me Month” is a personal journey about deep introspection and resetting the mind. Over the past few months, I felt as though I was losing grasp of the relationship that I had with myself. I hope that this experience encourages you to try abstinence in some capacity with either the necessities of life or with other luxuries taken for granted because the results are immaculate and will be something you continue to carry on as you venture through life.

This Thanksgiving, I urge you to take a few moments and consider what is one thing that keeps you thriving on a daily basis. It could be as simple or as complex as you wish, but take a few moments to allow yourself to feel this state of euphoria as you reflect on what you are truly grateful for. Once you have reignited that feeling, take a few moments to connect with it and I assure you that this year will embody a blissful Thanksgiving 2020.
I am the type of person who lets all my worries, thoughts, and tasks take prime real estate in the forefront of my mind. As a result, I procrastinate because I spend so much time thinking and figuring out ways to avoid thinking which leads to Netflix binges, stress eating, and overall, more procrastination.
The Happy2Thrive team donated free meals for the healthcare workers of Penn Medicine Princeton Health in Plainsboro, NJ. The team was able to fundraise nearly $1,500 over the course of 2 months through a series of successful and engaging virtual events.
Waking up at noon, eating some food, spending time on social media, napping again, scrolling more on social media, dinner time, and finally binging on late-night snacks & Netflix until the crack of dawn. Then you sleep, wake up, and repeat. You set some goals for the day, but somehow time flies and before you know it, the day is over with all these unfinished impending tasks. Does that sound any bit familiar to you?
Manifestation is real folks. I would tell you how Merriam-Webster defined manifestation, but I really did not like their version. However, I totally agree with Kelsey Aida’s definition: “to me a manifestation (noun) is something you bring forth into your physical life experience through past thoughts, feelings, or beliefs. This could be an experience, an object, a person... anything!” Beautifully said!
