Hello Everybody!

We wanted to share with you all an immediate cause we are working towards, which was spearheaded by our 2 volunteers- Suhas and Sreeya Kavuri. 

This cause is intended to aid a woman named Sara, who lives in a rural area in India. She suffers from Polio and has 2 young boys, one of whom she believes is suffering from a mental health condition. Her husband divorced her 10 years ago due to the stigma associated with their son’s mental health condition. As a result, she has been living in poverty and has been struggling to provide for her family. 

She asked us to help her fundraise for a sewing machine and other essentials to start her own clothing business in her village to raise money for her family. Our goal is to raise $600-$700 by the end of November, as she is in need of immediate help. 

Since our whole mission statement is about ending the mental health stigma and raising more awareness, helping Sara means we are coming one step closer to that goal. Sara needs our help and we’re hoping that you all will come forth to aid this cause! Looking forward to hearing from you all!
